For the past couple of days Team Tui have been working on some Matariki writing. For this task we had too use our five senses and choose three matariki stars. Then we choose one star and one sense per paragraph.

That was Matariki

Have you ever felt Matariki? Sure you have.

You remember that time you were standing in the rain, the water running

down your face. Your mum yelling at you too come inside.

That was Waipuna-rangi

Have you ever smelt Matariki? Sure you have.

You remember that time you were sitting on your bed the delicious smell of hangi

drifting in though your window. The smell of the cooking vegetables making you hungry?

That was Tupuanuku

Have you ever heard Matariki? Sure you have.

You remember that time you picked berries from a tree.  The rustling of the

leaves and branched filling the silence around you? 

That was Tupu-a-rangi
